About the event
Observing the intersections and parallels of Food, Art, & Wellness featuring special guest Ras Takura from Jamaica. Ras Takura is an acclaimed international artist, hailing from the mighty island of Jamaica. He is a performing reggae dub poet, agriculturalist, and curator of an international food and music festival held in Jamaica. He refined his passions for agriculture and arts while attending the College of Agriculture Science and Education (CASE). After finishing school, he created Dis Poem Wordz and Agro Festival, which is held annually at CASE, highlighting the Dub Poetry genre and promoting organic heirloom seed exchange. In 2015 he released his music album Food War, which highlights the themes of food security, agriculture, and Jamaican culture. Since then, he has toured the world spreading the message of food security practices.
